LP Hong, Wat Petchaburi

In the East-North of Thailand, There are quite a number of masters that are well-known, especially in Surin Province. One of them, is Luang Pu Hong. 

Since young, Luang Pu Hong is a hardworking and obedient kid and is very respectful to his parents. 

When he was 18, his parent requested him to become monk as they were afraid he might be with the wrong company. 

He agreed and was planning to become a monk for 7 days.

On the 3rd day while he was meditating under a tamarind tree, He saw a group of commoners, both young and old, came and request blessing from him.  Luang Pu Hong said "I'm unable to bless you all as I'm only here for a few days and I do not know how to chant"

The commoners said  "Your Venerable, it's okay if you don't know how to chant, but please try and chant "Namo Tassa Bagawato Arahato Samma SamBudhassa" 3 times and you'll know".

Luang Pu Hong took their suggestion and started to chant. To his amazement, He started to have the ability to chant out kathas! (Holy words)

After the blessing, the Commoners smiled and thank Luang Pu Hong. 

Before Luang Pu Hong can take a good look at them, they disappeared into thin air!

Luang Pu Hong went back and asked his abbot "Master, how come I have never learn the sutras before but I can actually chant?"

The Abbot said  "It could be because it came with you from your previous life and you are affiliate with Lord Buddha".

Every since that day, Luang Pu Hong decided to learn more on buddhism and instead of 7 days, He extended till he was 20 years old.

He started to further study on buddhism, sutras, and learnt from various Masters. No matter how far, how difficult, as long as there is a skill that this Master possess and that he don't know, He would definitely go and learn from them. 

3 years later, Luang Pu Hong like to venture into the other provinces and deep forest to practice Tudong. He likes to go to places that people do not dare to go, example cemetery. He believed that the most scariest and unknown places, if the Sangha (monks) can accomplish, The mind will receive true peace.

He had learnt Wicha (magic and witchcraft) from various famous Masters during his learning in Laos and the Masters are more than glad to teach him because they knew he has a very humble personality.

Although Luang Phor Hong is more than 90 years now, He is a Master that love and treasure Life. He often build ponds to rear fishes but prohibit catching them. He often tell his disciples and devotees, "Do not kill any animals, not even centipede. You will get retribution. For Good or Bad Deeds, everything comes with Karma. Must protect your surrounding because that's where we live".  

He often told the devotees to obey the Five Percepts of Buddhism ( Not to kill, Not to take what is not given, to Abstain from Sexual Misconduct, to Abstain from False Speech and Abstain from fermented drink that causes Heedlessness.)

Luang Pu Hong always bless the devotees and always hope that devotees will have happy and peaceful Life.
